Mo te turanga - About the role
As the Team Leader, you will lead, manage and care for a team of social work and housing professionals, and oversee day to day operations of the centre. A key focus will be ensuring that the housing services of the centre are operating in a consistent and safe manner, and supporting centre staff and volunteers to ensure present and future strategies are in place.
A key opportunity in this role is establishing and fostering relationships with internal/external partners that enhance communication, understanding and collaborative outcomes so that people can secure suitable long-term sustainable homes. Therefore, the ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively as a team and with other stakeholders is critical.

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum degree level in social sciences, or health sector is required
Hold a clean full driving license.
Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
A background in the social services / mental health / addictions sector
Demonstrates natural leadership qualities establishing great relationships with staff, service users, peers.
Previous Management Experience
Strong leadership capabilities with a collaborative approach
Strong relationship building
Previous or current experience in transitional housing would be advantageous
Computer literate including Teams, Outlook and Office 365
Able to meet tight budget, management reporting
Able to relate to people with sensitivity, care and patience
Highly developed written and oral communication skills
A strong understanding of, and a heart for, social justice issues
Ability to work to targets and deadlines
Ability to work proactively, problem solve and meet multiple demands.
Strong cultural competency, with the ability to work from a bicultural perspective

The hours for this role will be 40 per week.
The starting salary for this role is likely to fall between $95,000 and $122,000 per annum. This role is covered by the pay equity agreement and the final remuneration will be dependent on the years of experience the preferred candidate brings to the role.
