The Role: This is a fantastic opportunity to assist with the leadership and growth of the Palmerston North Building Structures Team, providing advice and delivering technical outputs in structural design for a broad range of clients in the private and public sectors. This role is responsible for the delivery of technical solutions and the development of the technical team with the option to step into a Team Leader position, which would take up approximately 10% - 15% of your time alongside your core technical Structural Engineer role. Key Responsibilities Include: Technical deliverables, including signing Producer Statements as projects require. Coaching the structural team members to maximise their development and ensure successful project outcomes. Undertake internal technical reviews and verification checks on all aspects of structural engineering projects. Preparation of design calculations, including seismic design and structural analysis of buildings and structures. Client and design team liaison. Develop and promote WSP's structural and seismic understanding, civil expertise, delivery, and profile. About You: Relevant tertiary qualification. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in New Zealand structural seismic design is required. CPEng is essential for this role. Able to work effectively and competently with people at all levels, within and outside the organisation. Good analytical skills and attention to detail. Solutions-driven, collaborative, and relationship-oriented. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse client base whilst upholding WSP's guiding principles.
