Team Leader, Secretariat at Department of Internal Affairs, WellingtonType: Fixed TermHours: Full timeLocation: WellingtonBusiness Group: Strategy and Branch ServicesBranch: Regulation and PolicyWe have a fixed term opportunity for a Team Leader to lead a small Secretariat supporting the Ministerial Advisory Committee (the Committee) working on the closure of greyhound racing.
You will lead and deliver advice commissioned by the Committee, on various issues related to the closure.You will be able to:Work independently to senior leaders, providing high quality adviceUnderstand machinery of government processesEffectively manage and lead people, providing mentoring and coaching to junior staff to support their growth and developmentDeal with a wide variety of stakeholdersYou will have:Excellent communication, research, and analytical skillsAdvanced critical thinking skills and the ability to deal with ambiguityExperience in developing advice for senior leadersA tertiary qualification that demonstrates your critical thinking training (for example in policy, law, economics, or another relevant field)What we offer you:An opportunity to apply your analytical, research, writing, and leadership skills to provide advice to senior leaders on a high-profile issueFlexible, family-friendly working arrangementsProfessional development and learning that meets individual needs and facilitates career pathwaysWellness initiatives for overall health and wellbeingThe Department of Internal Affairs is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion.
