Our environment here is part of who we are, and at ORC, we work each day to look after it.The OpportunityOur Finance team at the Otago Regional Council is looking for a Team Leader Revenue to join the team on a full-time basis (37.5 hrs per week) in our busy Dunedin office.The purpose of this role is to provide effective leadership and operational oversight to the revenue and rates team at the Otago Regional Council.As a Team Leader Revenue, you will be responsible for:The efficient and effective delivery of Council's revenue and rates functionsCoaching, mentoring, supporting and enabling staff to achieve agreed outcomes, and grow and develop in their rolesManaging the rating process including the setting, invoicing, and collection of ratesInvestigating and resolving queries received from ratepayers and debtorsEnsuring all revenue related transactions are processed, reconciled and posted to the general ledgerIf you are keen to lead a team and ensure efficient and effective delivery of the Council's revenue and rates, then this is the role for you!About YouOur ideal candidate will have:Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Mathematics, or equivalent level of 'on the job' learningMinimum 10 years accounts receivable and/or rates experienceMinimum 5 years team leader experience ideally in a complex large-scale organisationLocal Government rates and revenue experience including the setting of rates and rates resolutionsUnderstanding of principles and practices of a 'coaching' style of leadershipAbility to build effective and long-lasting relationships with industry bodies, Territorial Authorities, and other Regional CouncilsWhat we offerWe recognise and celebrate diversity within Team ORC and are committed to providing a work environment that supports inclusion and equal opportunities.
