Auckland Council's Building Consents provide local and regional building consenting services to ensure Auckland has safe and sustainable buildings.
We are looking for a Regulatory Leader to work closely with the Manager Regulatory Support. This role is tasked with leading and managing a regulatory support team that is responsible for providing process and systems support for all consenting lodgement and issuance of all applications under the Building Consents umbrella. You will monitor and develop team performance and manage daily workloads to meet required SLAS to support the overall Building Consent deliverables.

You are someone who is resilient with sound experience in the regulatory field with a strong focus on customer-centric delivery and providing first-rate customer service.
You will be able to view the business as an integrated whole, rather than a separate discipline and apply this thinking to problem-solving and business improvement. You enjoy working in a collaborative team environment and have a passion for building a future for Auckland.
To be successful in this role, you will have at least 7 years of experience in a business administration, Customer Services, or Regulatory environment, with 3 to 4 years having been in a leadership capacity. A relevant qualification in business administration or similar area would be an advantage. Your ability to recognise problems, identify the cause and develop and implement solutions will be the key to this role. Previous demonstrated experience in process improvement and translation of policy into the operational process would also be good for this role.
