Do you have a passion for your local community and making a difference? If so, we want you to lead our dynamic and influential policy team! You should also have experience in planning and resource management, plan development, and implementation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior or Principal to step into their first leadership role.
You will lead a close-knit team of three, providing thought leadership and mentorship on policy and planning work. The current focus is on projects aimed at improving the management of land and freshwater resources in the Hawke's Bay region. You will foster and grow relationships with internal and external stakeholders, making a positive impact on your community.
Key Responsibilities: Drive and manage the policy team, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.Work on Regional Policy Statement, Regional Coastal Environment Plan, and the Regional Resource Management.Oversee planning and reporting processes to ensure high-quality policy outcomes.Provide sound advice on options for the development of resource management policy.Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and deliver impactful policy initiatives.Effectively engage with other ministries and local councils about RMA.Requirements: Proven experience in a Senior or Principal policy/RMA role looking to step up, or a leadership role.RMA/Planning experience.Strong skills in planning, reporting, and project management.Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.This is a great organisation that values you and your professional development, encouraging good team culture.
