About the role | Ko te mahi nei We are seeking a dynamic Team Leader for our Planning Services division. This newly created role is a result of a recent realignment process and offers an exciting opportunity to lead change and make a significant impact on our growing city's future. You'll oversee a team of regulatory planners and support staff, ensuring efficient Resource Consent processing and expert District Plan guidance.
Key Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of 6-7 regulatory planners and support staffOversee high-quality, timely resource consent processingProvide professional technical expertise on complex planning mattersDrive continuous improvement in processes and customer serviceContribute to budget management and fee applicationEngage with internal and external stakeholders on planning issuesAbout you | Ko Koe Tenei We're looking for a passionate urban planning professional with proven leadership skills and a commitment to excellence.
The ideal candidate will possess Excellent communication and relationship-building abilitiesStrong track record in building and leading high-performing teamsMotivation to drive continuous improvement and changeCommitment to fostering a positive team cultureAdvanced knowledge of resource consents and district plan formulationSound professional advice on complex planning matters to stakeholdersProactive approach to problem-solving and process improvementQualifications and Experience Tertiary qualification in planning or resource management5+ years postgraduate experience in resource consent processing or related areasMembership of the New Zealand Planning Institute (or equivalent) is desirableCurrent NZ Driver's LicenseWhy Join Us?
