About the role:
As a Team Leader in our Youth and Disability services you will be responsible for leading a team of youth and disability support workers working alongside people in our community with the overall objective of providing a safe and supportive environment for both staff and people we support. This environment will assist individuals to develop practical life skills including, household tasks, meeting education/vocational needs, cultural awareness, community activities and participation, building positive relationships with whanau and peers, and everyday problem solving and coping strategies.
Coaching and mentoring are a big part of your role, you will have great leadership skills and know how to relate to your support workers, people we support and stakeholders.
You will have knowledge of the enabling good lives principles, and an understand of what living a good life looks like.
You will walk along side the people you are supporting, realising it is their journey and allow them a space to grow.
CCT Youth and Disability Services in Nelson include emergency housing, transitional housing, and Individual Care Response in a 24/7 supported environment, and community supports within the school, home, or community.
This is a full-time, salaried position, with usual hours of work being Monday to Friday 8.30am-5.00pm. You will also be included in the Crisis Behaviour Support on-call roster. Occasionally, work is required outside of these hours, so a degree of flexibility is required.
Successful applicant will have:
Experience working in youth, disability, or mental health services
An understanding of trauma informed support
A proactive and person-centred approach to support.
Clear communication, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships and the ability to advocate and promote the voice of the supported person at professional meetings
Proficiency in report writing and using Microsoft Office
Previous experience in leading a team
Hold a full current NZ Driver License
It would be beneficial to have:
Tertiary qualification in a relevant field
Good knowledge of the principles of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
To work for us you must:
Hold a current First Aid Certificate (or be willing to complete one at our cost)
Be eligible to work in New Zealand and have a valid visa with a minimum of 12 months until expiry
Hold a FULL, clean New Zealand Driver License
