About the role This is a newly created opportunity for a Team Leader Compliance and Monitoring to join our compliance and monitoring team. Reporting to the Group Manager of Regulatory Services, the team leader will be responsible for leading the operations of our compliance, monitoring and enforcement functions across Council, this includes areas such as: resource management compliance, noise, animal control and freedom camping. This role will include some on-call work after business hours - this is on a rostered basis.  Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to): manage, lead and empower a team of mostly in-field officers including; animal control, monitoring and enforcement and compliance officers undertake compliance, monitoring and enforcement activities in the Southland District, particularly for complex enforcement situations  implement and lead best practice process and procedures in order to meet customer service expectations and statutory obligations  present reports and evidence to council hearings and district court when required  To be successful in this role you will: a tertiary qualification in a related discipline would be an advantage  have experience leading teams in a compliance or enforcement context possess political awareness, with the ability to assess all aspects of a situation, potential consequences and make sound decisions have excellent communication skills with the ability to educate a range of stakeholders in a collaborative manner A full NZ drivers licence is essential What's in it for you?
