We are looking for a passionate and experienced people leader to join our dedicated Central City leadership team of five, as we shape the vision for the Central City Hub, creating safer places for people to participate in, meet, connect and enjoy civic life in the Central City.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity leading a team of 12-15, based in the Auckland Central City Library with some flexibility around working hours.
Day to day you and your team will be responsible for:
Ensuring staff have the knowledge and competency to deliver frontline library and council services, and the confidence to respond to customer requests in a busy and dynamic work environment.Supporting the design and implementation of service improvement initiatives.Engaging with Central City stakeholders, local partners and service providers supporting community access to our frontline library and council services functions.Liaising with Iwi and wider council whanau to strengthen strategic outcomes.Planning, promoting, evaluating, and reporting on the services provided.We're looking for someone who will be able to hit the ground running, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:
Leadership and Team Development: Proven ability to lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team.Librarianship and Customer Services: Experience working within a public library environment supporting teams to learn, build knowledge and capability in our mahi with a focus on reader services, council services and community engagement.Collaboration and Business Improvement: Working alongside teams and connecting with subject matter experts to ensure challenges are resolved in a constructive, collaborative and timely manner and supporting business improvement solutions.Communication and Relationship Management: Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to manage relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse groups and individuals.You'll work in a stimulating environment and be part of a passionate team committed to Auckland communities.
