About the role:
As Team Leader – Environmental Health you will be leading a committed team of 6 staff providing critical environmental health services (sales & supply of alcohol, bylaw enforcement, food verification & other compliance work across the region).

Key responsibilities include: Leadership (motivation, coaching, retention, recruitment) across the Environmental Health teamLead the Food Check South team ensuring MPI Recognised Agency status is maintainedDevelop & maintain strong relationships with both internal & external stakeholdersEnsure local bylaws & legislation are enforced undertaking the duties required of an Environmental Health OfficerComplete regulatory status reports for both council & other relevant agencies About the successful candidate:
We are looking for an experienced & committed Environmental Health professional to come on board. You could already be operating at a Team Leader / Senior level or equally looking to take a step up in your career to this level.

You will need a relevant tertiary qualification that is recognised by the New Zealand Environmental Health Officers Qualifications Regulations 1993. Additionally, you would hold (or be working towards) a Managers Certificate under Sales and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.

If you are outside the Invercargill / Southland region we are looking for someone open to relocation to join a high performing team & enjoy the lifestyle & affordable living down in the deep south!
