Our Silver Fern Farms Waitotara site is located on the border of South Taranaki, about 35 minutes from Whanganui. We are a friendly and caring team of approximately 230 staff with highly motivated leaders.
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Team Leader for our cold chain.
Te Turanga/About the Role
As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for supporting your team and coordinating our daily incomings/outgoings. We move product from our on-site manufacturing into the freezers and loadout outgoing product into trucks/shipping containers. Ideally you will have experience in logistics and warehousing, but we are interested in hearing from you if you have practical leadership experience in other manufacturing or operational environments.
This is a day shift position; you will need to be available 5am to 2pm as well as occasional overtime on Saturdays.

Organise daily loadout requirements with the group leader and clearly communicate this with your team
Lead and direct the team, making confident decisions on-the-spot
Ensure documentation is accurate
Train and coach members of your team

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate leadership qualities and experience. You will be driven by building a safe, quality focused and positive culture within your team. You will be confident with identifying areas for improvement within the site and have a desire to progress your career in the red meat industry.
Other required attributes are:
Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 25kg
Experience in warehousing, logistics and forklift operating
Ability to work in frozen/chilled environment
Solid awareness and commitment to health and safety requirements
Passionate about inspiring others; and providing personal and professional development opportunities to team members
Display leadership qualities and proactively drive a strong culture that aligns with Silver Fern Farms values - Unstoppable Together, Improving Tomorrow and Always Caring
Experience in the food processing industry would be beneficial
Computer literacy and strong communication skills
