For the first time in seven years, a vacancy has occurred within our BCA Lead Team. We're looking for a passionate team leader who loves a challenge and has the technical know-how to lead our processing team.
As team leader, you will be guiding, coaching, and mentoring a growing team of motivated and skilled officers. You will work closely with our inspections and compliance teams and other stakeholders to create a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
The successful candidate will be joining a recognised high performing Building Consent Authority (re-confirmed by IANZ March 2024).
Your role will focus on:
Ensuring building consent applications are assessed and processed accurately and efficiently.Providing customer-friendly responses to inquiries and offering technical advice to both council staff and the public.Leading your team to meet and exceed operational targets, while maintaining high standards of service.To succeed in this position, you will also need:
A thorough understanding of the New Zealand building consent regulatory framework, along with knowledge of the local government environment and relevant legislation.Competency under the National BCA Competency Assessment system, ideally across a full range of building categories.A recognised Regulation 18 qualification.Strong communication skills to effectively lead and liaise with various stakeholders.Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills to manage the demands of a fast-paced environment.Be passionate about coaching staff.Why choose TCDC?
