Full time Add expected salary to your profile for insights This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to manage the Ministry's leased property portfolio, influence strategic decisions, and contribute to future property investments.In this role, you will lead a small team responsible for overseeing commercial leases and property acquisitions. You'll ensure the Ministry's leased premises are cost-effective and sustainable, while helping to modernise their ageing property portfolio, including buildings that are over 50 years old and historically classified.Key Responsibilities:* Lead and mentor the Leasing & Acquisitions team, driving efficiency and high performance.* Manage a $30 million annual leasing portfolio, ensuring cost-effective and sustainable use of leased spaces.* Negotiate and manage commercial leases, rent reviews, lease renewals, and other related property activities.* Oversee land and property acquisitions* Build and maintain relationships with landlords, tenants, and key stakeholders.* Provide strategic input into property business cases and budget forecasts.* Identify risks and propose innovative solutions to ensure optimal property management.* Collaborate with external contractors, consultants, and other Ministry teams.To be successful in this role, you will have:* At least 5 years of experience in commercial leasing management and property acquisitions, ideally in the public sector.* Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring staff.* Excellent negotiation, lease management, and relationship-building skills.* A solid understanding of property legislation and commercial lease management practices.* Experience with budget forecasting, financial planning, and property systems management.* The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, responding to changing needs and priorities.Robert Walters endeavours to review all applications in a maximum of five working days.
