Team Administrator (Finance) - Los Angeles, United States Do you have initiative, great communication skills and an eye for detail? Do you have over three years or more experience in office administration? The New Zealand Consulate-General is looking for a pro-active Administrator to join their Team, to provide business administration support in a diverse and fast-paced working environment.

Based at the New Zealand Consulate-General in Los Angeles, this is a full-time locally engaged position commencing in late October 2024.

Korero moe turanga - About the role The Team Administrator (Finance) will provide general administrative support, with particular emphasis on financial reporting and analysis activities to help ensure the efficient and smooth running of the post.

Responsibilities: Developing and tracking the Consulate General's budget, making payments, managing cash balances, and providing monthly financial reports, administering staff leave and salary payments. Act as the primary administrative contact between the Post and US State Dept. Notification of staff arrivals and departures, staff changes, ID cards, etc. Asset administration and assisting with property maintenance and inventory purchases, scheduling, recording, and escorting of service providers. Central point for IT problems at Post and coordination with MFAT Service centre and external providers for resolution. The appointment starting salary range for this role is USD $58,168 - $68,433 total remuneration negotiable depending on experience.

In addition, the employer provides Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance for employees and their non-working dependents, as well as workers compensation and disability insurance for employees.

Applicants should have a relevant business or formal qualification and/or significant previous experience and knowledge of financial management and reporting. Well-developed planning and organisational skills, including ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work under pressure are essential. Strong written and oral communication skills are also required. Someone who will work independently, and also work well with a small team.

Please note: This is not a Foreign Policy/diplomatic role. This is a Corporate role (known here as a Specialist role) employed at Post. The successful appointee would ideally be available to commence duties in October 2024.

The successful applicant will be employed on local terms and conditions and must have the right to work in the United States. The Consulate-General will assist with applying for the appropriate work visa if the applicant does not already have work authorization for the USA.

You will also be responsible to ascertain and meet your own New Zealand or US tax liabilities. The preferred candidate would be a New Zealand Citizen or Dual National or a US Permanent Resident and be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate NZ Government Security clearance.
