Full time, Fixed term, Start Date: 28/01/2025, End Date: 17/12/2025 (Maternity Leave)Area / composite (Years 1–15), Certificated teacherEnglish, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Maori, The artsSpecial Duties Allowance (SDA)As the leading provider of education for students with special educational needs in the Western Bay of Plenty, we provide fully adapted programmes to meet the unique characteristics of our students. Our school is made up of a Base School, two offsite community classes, four satellite classes, and an Outreach Service. Note: While our school is listed in the primary school sector, we in fact cover primary, intermediate, secondary levels, and post Y13. Our students range in age from 5–21 years. All our students have ORS funding with a diagnosed intellectual disability. They may also have additional behavioural and/or physical needs.Fixed-term position available for January 2025 start. Special Duties Allowance applies.Preferred criteria:Experienced NZ registered teacher with a current practising certificateExcellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team with parents/whanau, caregivers, support staff, and specialistsKnowledge and understanding of teaching students with additional needs, and/or trauma informed practice is desirableWe encourage visits to the school by appointment.How to apply:Please send in a completed application form, a CV, and cover letter outlining relevant experience and skills.
