DEPARTMENT OF SURGICAL SCIENCES | TE TARI HAPARAPARA DUNEDIN SCHOOL OF MEDICINE | TE KURA WHAIORA A OTEPOTI About our team/Mo te tima The Department of Surgical Sciences, located at Dunedin Hospital, is a major teaching and research department within the Dunedin School of Medicine. We excel in clinical teaching and training, linking science with clinical research, and developing our discipline nationally and internationally. The role/Te mahi As a Teaching Fellow within our Department, your focus will be supporting Advanced Learning in Medicine (ALM) under the supervision of the Convenor/academic colleague who is responsible for course design and delivery. Some key tasks include: Facilitating learning by performing teaching duties. Coordinating learning activities for ALM year 4, 5 and 6 students. Supporting the teaching and administration of training courses, such as suture workshops and teaching tutorials. Supporting the development and delivery of online teaching resources. Supporting the development and delivery of new course initiatives. You will also ensure administrative processes are completed and carry out all marking and assessment reporting. Your skills and experience/Ka pukeka me ka wheako A relevant higher degree. This could include MB ChB or equivalent. Relevant teaching experience. Ability to relate to a wide variety of people within a teaching and research environment. Good written and verbal communication skills. Further details/Puroko This is a part-time (0.5 FTE), fixed term position for one year, based in Dunedin. The salary scales for this position are: Non-Medical/Dental scale - $70,692 to $82,008 per annum. Medical/Dental scale - $75,231 to $90,449 per annum.
