Who we are/Ko wai matou
The Department of General Practice and Rural Health (GPRH) within the Dunedin School of Medicine plays an integral part in training our medical workforce of the future. We teach medical students across the three levels of the Advanced Learning in Medicine Programme taught in the Otago Medical School (i.e. Years 4, 5 and 6).
The role/Te mahi
We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Fellow, to contribute to the teaching team in GPRH to support key teaching events and programmes. The Department teaches community-based Healthcare to Medical students, so candidates with a nursing or other allied health professional background are particularly encouraged to apply.
The role will involve teaching coordination tasks, and, subject to prior experience, may also include direct teaching of components of the course (e.g. giving injections/medications safety/aspects of clinical examination).
Skills and Experience/Ka pukeka me ka wheako
Someone who has experience in health and education, is a strong team player, and is able to work flexibly across a range of diverse tasks and roles would be ideally suited to this role.
The successful applicant will also have:
A relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a health profession.
Excellent communication skills.
Teaching experience appropriate to their health professional background.
Further Information/Puroko
This is a part time (0.4 FTE), fixed term position until 5 September 2025, based in Dunedin.
The appointment range is $70,692 to $96,058 per annum.
