Founded in 1935, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Thamarrurr Catholic College (OLSHT) is in Wadeye, NT , within the Thamarrurr Region, 420 km southwest of Darwin. Serving a vibrant Indigenous community, our school offers education from Preschool through Year 12, including a Families as First Teachers Program. With a strong cultural heritage, OLSHT is committed to cultural inclusivity. Our team consists of 110 staff, 67 of whom are local Indigenous members, creating a collaborative environment.

OLSHT has exciting opportunities for multiple full-time teaching positions based in the remote location of Wadeye, NT . The positions include:
Primary-Trained Teachers Willing to Teach Secondary Classes
Health and Physical Education Teachers
You will be a part of the school's strategic direction, embracing our vision of fostering resilience and cultural understanding, by delivering a bilingual education program that sets high expectations for students and faculty.
Your Responsibilities:
Delivering engaging and culturally sensitive lessons to students
Collaborating with local and non-local staff to ensure a cohesive teaching approach
Implementing the Australian Curriculum effectively
Supporting students with English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D)
Managing classroom behaviour through consistent and collective school-wide practices
Assisting in the development and implementation of individualised learning plans
Participating in community activities and fostering positive relationships
Utilising collaborative teaching methods to enhance learning experiences
Your Skills: Educate and Make Impact
To qualify, you will need a recognised teaching qualification and eligibility for Northern Territory Teacher Registration .
While not a prerequisite, previous background or experience in education systems of remote or rural areas will be highly valued.
Additionally, the following skills and background are essential:
Familiarity with the Australian Curriculum
Experience with English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) and bilingual education practices
Strong behaviour management skills
Ability to adapt to a remote and culturally diverse environment
A deep respect for Indigenous cultures and the ability to work alongside community members

About the Benefits
Earn $85,094 to $122,036 PLUS super (salary is commensurate to the number of years of experience - determined by previous statements of service)
Superannuation 11.5%
