Teacher – Whanau Manaaki Kindergartens

Putiki Kindergarten is situated alongside Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Atihaunui-a-Paparangi, Putiki Marae and Putiki Wharenui Kohanga Reo close to the beautiful Whanganui Awa. Children attending the kindergarten come from the wider Whanganui region including city and rural communities. There is a strong sense of whanaungatanga within the Kindergarten. Currently, the team has a focus on building their localized curriculum including an extensive philosophy review. This exciting journey is being supported by whanau and members of local Iwi.
This is a fixed term part-time teacher role (0.9, 36 hours per week) to cover parental leave at this Kindergarten from 3rd January 2025 until 1 December 2025, worked over the following days and times:
Monday (8 hours) – 8am–4:30pm with 1/2 hr unpaid break
Tuesday (7 hours) – 8am–3:30pm with 1/2 hr unpaid break
Wednesday (8 hours) – 8am–4:30pm with 1/2 hr unpaid break
Thursday (6.5 hours) – 8am–3pm with 1/2 hr unpaid break
Friday (6.5 hours) – 8am–3pm with 1/2 hr unpaid break
The Kindergarten is a full-year service. It is open from 8.30am-2.30pm Monday- Friday and is licensed for 30 children.
