Kahurangi kindergarten is located in Solway, Masterton. The team is committed to providing a bicultural curriculum where we work in partnership with whanau to promote whanaungatanga - a sense of connection through shared experiences. We practice kaitiakitanga, promoting respect for the natural environment and the values of care and protection.
This is visible in our extensive and beautiful garden and our commitment to garden to table. Kahurangi is responsive to diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for all to learn in a supportive whanau-based environment.
We are a full-year kindergarten, licensed for 45 children who attend between the hours of 8am-4pm; 8.30am-3.30pm; 9am-3pm. This includes 5 children under 2 years of age. You will join our team alongside 7 other teachers.
We are looking for an enthusiastic ECE kaiako who: is a reflective practitioner with sound knowledge of current pedagogy and practice who can work very effectively in collaborative ways
has a strong knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and working in a way that acknowledges the dual heritage of Aotearoa
has an ability to work with parents as partners in their children's education
engages in effective communication in a large team and is committed to their professional growth
has a passion for working with children 0–5 years of age within a whanau-based approach.
