Area / composite (Years 1–15), Certificated teacher
The arts
Part-time 0.6 to full-time position depending on subjects offered.
Situated in the historic Okato along the spectacular Taranaki Coast, we are a progressive community school wholeheartedly committed to serving our tamariki, their whanau, and our community. We celebrate our rich history and traditions, and join our akonga and their whanau on a journey to nurture and grow their interests and unique talents.
We seek a motivated, experienced, and highly skilled teacher to deliver art and visual design across our Area school. As you will be the sole person in your teaching area, an ability to work as part of a wider curriculum team is essential. So too is an in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of NZ Curriculum and strong links to your association. In your new role, you will be responsible for growing the arts at CTS, which could include performing art/te ao haka.
Although teaching NCEA students to Y13 will feature as part of your teaching skill set, a willingness to teach art across our school from Y4 to 10 is also required.
As a member of our team, you will work within our community of learners to ensure that our school values of ako, whanaungatanga, and manaakitanga are a lived experience. You will have strong interpersonal skills and work collaboratively with our community.
When you join the team at Coastal Taranaki School, you will find a place that cares about you as a colleague and a place where we work together to give genuine effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the care and protection of the hauora of all.
