To commence on 28 January or as soon as possible thereafter.Previous applicants need not reapply.Experience working in a high equity index kura or similar environment would be an advantage.The successful applicant will have:A genuine passion for teaching in a growing kura with a high proportion of Maori and Pasifika students (75%)High expectations of students and selfA genuine commitment to raising student expectations and achievementA high level of digital competencyThe ability and willingness to teach collaboratively in a culturally vibrant environment and adapt or facilitate changes in teaching and learning methodsYou will also have the opportunity to engage in project-based learning that is responsive to the interests and career aspirations of our tauira.Current New Zealand teacher registration and certification would be an advantage but is not a prerequisite for applicants. However, the successful applicant will need to obtain this before commencing.The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position are set by the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $62k to $100k, depending on applicant's qualifications and experience.
