Social sciences
We are one of New Zealand's premier independent day and boarding schools for Y9-13 boys and Y11-13 girls. With a growing roll of currently 850 students, our school offers a learning environment that fosters academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, character education, and traditional values.
We seek a creative and innovative teacher with experience in teaching junior social sciences and senior history to join our team. We're looking for someone who has a solution-focused approach to education, places akonga at the centre of their pedagogy, seeks excellence in their practice, and has a commitment to and understanding of maatauranga maaori.
Well-resourced, small class sizes and motivated and self-disciplined students. Staff enjoy benefits including daily cooked lunches, generous leave provisions, and a supportive and collegial environment. A competitive remuneration package is on offer, including teacher salary scale plus a St Paul's Allowance of $5,000 per annum. There are also annual bonus rounds, both rewarding staff involvement in our co-curricular programme and those involved in teaching our scholarship courses.
Our vision is turning possibilities into realities and we are on a mission to prepare our students for life in the global environment. Alongside other key priorities, we want to be considered as NZ's premier Boarding school, reflecting outstanding facilities, expert pastoral care, and diverse boarder engagement activities. We want staff who will commit to our vision and mission and who will work with us in achieving our strategic goals.
Commence at the beginning of term 1, 2025 (if, due to notice period requirements, the successful candidate is not available to start for the new school year, a start date up to early April 2025 may be accommodated).
