We are excited to welcome a teacher of physical education and health to our growing department. This role is ideal for a beginning teacher eager to develop their skills and contribute to a dynamic learning environment. Experience in outdoor education is a valuable advantage.
Ormiston Senior College is a Year 11–13 school with a focus on student agency and personalised learning .

A successful candidate will demonstrate:
Enthusiasm for teaching physical education and health
Experience or interest in outdoor education (desirable)
Experience and ability to work with and support Maori and Pacific akonga
A commitment to collaborative teaching and learning within and across curriculum areas
The ability to build strong relationships with akonga and whanau
A developing understanding of matauranga Maori and its relevance to Health and PE
A desire to honour obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi
All members of our teaching staff also serve as learning advisors , guiding and supporting students in their academic and personal growth.
This position will commence January 27, 2025 , or at the earliest time possible by negotiation with the candidates current employer.
