King's College is seeking to appoint a full-time, motivated, inspirational teacher to our expanding, vibrant, progressive design technology department. The wish is to add an emotionally intelligent, suitably qualified teacher with a sense of humour, to the already diverse technology teaching staff, who is passionate about growing young minds and committed to the highest teaching and learning standards.
The successful applicant should be someone with enthusiasm for emerging technologies including CAD and CAM. The department boasts of 3D printing, CNC routing and two laser cutters as well as offices, breakout classrooms, workshops and an exhibition space. It is extremely well equipped with design studios and workshops supporting a wide range of projects including engineering, fabrics, ceramics and glass as well as the more traditional facilities.
The successful applicant will also:
Have a tertiary qualification – Bachelors or higher (or equivalent) in area of teaching specialty.
Have a Teaching Diploma and be a registered teacher.
Be legally allowed to work in New Zealand.
Have a collaborative and constructive work style.
Proven ability in mentoring and coaching students, prefects, and student leaders.
Be able to provide high quality, evidence-based reporting ensuring opportunities, risks and preferred recommendations provide guidance for good decision making.
The department includes an electronic engineer, an architect, a special designer and development engineer amongst its staff which gives the students access to a wide range of experience to feed off.
