About the organisation: LSNZ Christchurch is looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and experienced teacher to join our small team. The school has been in operation for the past 30 years and has provided high-quality English education to international tertiary students since opening. Currently, we have a great mix of different nationalities at our school, which leads to a truly diverse and unique experience when you step into one of our classrooms.

Job description:
A Teacher of English at LSNZ is expected to prepare and teach professional lessons in accordance with our school curriculum. This also entails keeping a clear and accurate record of lessons taught including attendance and providing timely information relating to student learning and progress to the Director of Studies. Teachers are also asked to provide a short speech for their students at our Friday graduation ceremony. Teachers are expected to attend weekly staff meetings and regular professional development sessions. All teachers are expected to always maintain a good rapport with every student at the school, whilst always treating everyone with dignity and respect.

Job requirements: Essential: Initial TESOL qualification Has a level of English of at least CEFR C1 level Plus one or more of the following:

A degree A post-graduate diploma in a language related area 720 hours of English language teaching experience A diploma of teaching. Desirable: Ability to speak another language to at least a conversational standard (ideally French or Spanish). Advanced knowledge of ESL writing pedagogy, including process-orientated approaches and task-based learning. Experience with assessing and moderating writing in an academic setting, with an understanding of different writing genres and expectations.
