Technology

We are seeking a technology teacher to join our collaborative and creative team . There is flexibility in this role to teach design and visual communication (DVC) , product design , or both, depending on your strengths and experience.
Ormiston Senior College is a Y11–13 school with a focus on student agency and personalised learning .
For us, personalised learning means:
High-quality, culturally inclusive teaching that is responsive to the unique ways our students achieve their best. He waka eke noa. Product design at Ormiston Senior College is centered on the design process, encouraging students to explore and innovate through practical, hands-on learning. Competency in CAD, CAM, and 3D printing would be ideal to support the depth of learning in this subject area.
A successful candidate will demonstrate: Expertise in design and visual communication and/or product design Skills in CAD, CAM, and 3D printing to enhance student learning in product design Experience and ability to work with and support Maori and Pacific akonga A commitment to collaborative teaching and learning across curriculum areas The ability to form strong relationships with akonga and whanau A developing understanding of matauranga Maori and how it can enrich design teaching A desire to honour obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi . All members of our teaching staff also serve as learning advisors , guiding students in their academic and personal pathways.
