Current Vacancies
Teacher of Commerce (Years 9-13) We are seeking to appoint a talented and motivated Teacher of Commerce to teach in our Middle and Senior Schools, Years 9-13. This is a full time, permanent appointment commencing in time for Term 1, January 2025.
With a national and international reputation for excellence, Scots College is a world-class independent school with a strong Presbyterian Heritage. It is a fully co-education, IB World School in the eastern suburbs of Wellington, New Zealand, and comprises three schools in one: Junior (Years 1-6), Middle (Years 7-10), and Senior (Years 11-13). We provide our students with an excellent and holistic education within a vibrant learning environment with the aim of allowing them to contribute as global citizens who think creatively, reason critically, communicate effectively, and develop the necessary skills to learn for life.
Scots College offers a dual pathway for senior students offering both NCEA and the IB Diploma. The College is fully authorised for the delivery of the Diploma and Middle Years Programmes. Experience teaching either or both of these would be advantageous although training will be provided.
Applicants should have:
Experience or the ability to teach general Commerce right through to senior level
Experience teaching Business Studies would be advantageous although not absolutely essential
Interdisciplinary teaching experience is desirable
The ability to promote learning in a blended learning environment
A willingness to move with the times and work to meet our future focussed learning goals
Good communication and interpersonal skills
A passion for education
The ability to manage and motivate young people
A commitment to our special character and co-curricular programmes
