Blue Mountain College is a small rural Y7-13 co-educational school set in the heart of West Otago, half-way between the university city of Dunedin and the Central Otago Lakes. We seek a passionate New Zealand registered educator with sound knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and NCEA systems to join our team.
Flexibility is the key with this role with strengths in the teaching of literacy and agriculture being the initial focus. Please state other subject areas and extra-curricular activities you could contribute to.
The attributes we are looking for are:
adaptability, initiative, reflective practice,
a passion for your subjects,
commitment to enabling the students to do their very best,
modelling lifelong learning and a sense of humour.
This position may suit a beginning teacher as we have extremely strong HODs in these learning areas, along with a superb BT programme.
We are a very high performing school, priding ourselves on our excellent NCEA pass rates, as well as wide-ranging sporting, cultural and leadership opportunities and achievements. As a committed PB4L school we have high expectations of ourselves as staff and our students in terms of respectful, responsible and inclusive behaviours.
We enjoy a collegial staff group, great future-focused support from our Board and an appreciative community.
