Do you have knowledge and an appreciation of Te Reo me ona tikanga Maori within an educational framework? This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to join our team at King's College. You will teach Te Reo Maori - Levels 1-8 of the New Zealand curriculum/Te Marautanga o Aotearoa whilst supporting our school's kapahaka group through your knowledge and leadership. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning to our diverse student group and ensuring a progressive and supportive learning environment, one which fosters inclusivity for all.
Criteria for application to include:

High fluency and understanding of Te Reo me ona tikanga Maori
Current teacher registration; provisional registration or be studying for a tertiary qualification in teaching
Ability to teach to NCEA Level 3 Te Reo Maori
Ability to build strong relationships with our students and their whanau
Passionate and dedicated to leading the cultural experience within King's College
Collaborative and enjoys contributing and working as part of a team

Skills and Competence:

Demonstrates ability to communicate to parents, teachers, Head of Departments, School Counsellors, and students in a diverse community
Demonstrates commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnership
Ability to develop a learning/pastoral environment that fosters creativity and excellence
Collaborates and communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of people
Proven ability in mentoring and coaching students, prefects, and student leaders
Provides high quality, evidence-based reporting ensuring opportunities, risks and preferred recommendations provide guidance for good decision making
