As a Nursery Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a warm and engaging learning environment, promoting children's holistic development through responsive, respectful caregiving and play-based learning.As a centre, we offer a supportive, professional and collaborative team environment.
We pride ourselves on having a welcoming space with a focus on the well-being and development of both tamariki and staff.Role Requirements / Nga whakaritenga mahi:- Provide high-quality education and care for children under 2 years, ensuring their physical, emotional, and developmental needs are met.- Develop and implement age-appropriate activities, experiences, and routines based on the principles of Te Whariki and the learning goals of each child.- Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents/whanau, and team members to foster a collaborative and supportive learning community.- Observe and document children's development and learning progress through learning stories, portfolios, and assessments.- Maintain a safe, healthy, and engaging environment for all children, promoting their sense of well-being and belonging.- Communicate regularly with parents/whanau regarding their child's development and daily routines.- Collaborate with the wider teaching team to create a cohesive and enriching learning environment.Qualifications and Experience:- Either teacher in training or Caregiver with experience- Experience working with infants and toddlers in an early childhood setting is preferred.- Sound knowledge of Te Whariki and early childhood development principles.- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with children, parents, and team members.- Passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing high-quality care and learning experiences.This is a fixed term position (starting from 30/10/24-29/08/25), working 35 hours per week, between 730am – 530pm, Monday-Friday.
