Teacher in the Physical Assistance Centre Part time, Fixed term, FTTE up to: 0.8, Start Date: 28/01/2025, End Date: 27/01/2026 (Working with specific students)
Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher
We are seeking a fixed-term teacher to work part time in our Physical Assistance Centre. Your main teaching focus would be literacy, numeracy and life skills.
Your role will be to ensure that all our unique akonga have access to the necessary resources and assistance required in order to achieve. Your responsibilities will involve working closely with akonga, their whanau, and kaiako to identify any learning challenges and to implement effective support strategies. We are looking for a candidate who embodies empathy, adaptability, and a strong commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment that caters to the needs of every student.
The position requires someone with classroom experience who can develop positive relationships with the students, whanau, staff and outside agencies. While having knowledge of the learning support system and prior experience working with students with physical disabilities would be advantageous, it is not a mandatory requirement.
Involvement in our extracurricular programme will be advantageous.
