An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced teacher to support our faculty as our teacher-in-charge of geography and tourism for a maternity leave position for 2025. We are looking for an enthusiastic geography teacher who needs to be able to fill two roles. You need to be able to take charge of geography, working with another teacher, and also manage the tourism area, working collaboratively with a team to support a successful program. The organisation and management of field trips is an essential part of the skill set required. Please state your experience in both geography and tourism and give evidence of your ability to lead and organise in these two areas. The successful candidate will: Have experience and show leadership in geography and tourism Be highly motivated, with a commitment to the school's vision, values, and high standards of achievement in a progressive girls' school environment. Have a passion for empowering young women and preparing them for their future Be open to change and confident in curriculum planning Recognise and value the importance of embedding Matauranga Maori within the curriculum. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and collaboration. Have a growth mindset and willingness to contribute to developing our future-focused curriculum Have a strong commitment to restorative practice and culturally responsive and relational teaching approaches is essential.
