The Otago University Childcare Association is an association of 5 purpose-built centres on the University campus. Te Maioha is one of our centres for children under two years of age. We operate with a maximum of approximately 32 tamariki in two fully rebuilt villas. Our ratios are 1 teacher to 4 tamariki. We pay full parity rates. This is a full time position. The successful applicant will become a part of a diverse, collaborative team that is passionate about children's learning.
We are looking for a qualified and registered ECE teacher whose commitment to high-quality teaching is evident in their practice. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic participant in teaching and learning, have evidence of being an active reflective practitioner, and be able to establish respectful and supportive relationships with diverse whanau, children, and teachers. Strengths in te reo and tikanga Maori are also desirable. We welcome applications from new graduates. We offer mentoring for registration, extensive collegial and professional support, and a fantastic work environment. Teaching in a large association also allows for long-term professional growth as there is an opportunity over time to teach in a variety of centres, all of which offer different education settings. All of our centres receive funding for 100% qualified registered teachers and provide ECECA terms and conditions (see NZEI website for more info).
