Community Development (Community Services & Development) Our Puhoro whanau is expanding and we are looking for a Kaihautu Lead to support our growth into the recently established Te Tai Tokerau region. You'll take lead on the expansion and day-to-day operation of this region with the support and guidance of a team that is passionate about seeing rangatahi Maori thrive in STEMM (Science,Technology, Engineering, Maths and Matauranga Maori). Who are we? The Puhoro Charitable Trust is a kaupapa Maori organisation with a mission to improve Maori outcomes in STEM and related fields. We service 10 regions across Aotearoa and we work with 2000+ rangatahi Maori in high school and in tertiary. The role: The role of Kaihautu Lead is to work directly with rangatahi Maori in high school to support their development in STEM and enable them to achieve their aspirations. You'll report to our Mana Urunga Tu – Northern Regions and you'll join a highly collaborative team of Kaihautu spread across Aotearoa. View the job description here - Responsibilities: In this role the Kaihatu Lead will work with our partner schools in the Te Tai Tokerau region on the delivery of in-school workshops and regional events with a focus on expansion and relationship building. Experience: Competent and comfortable working with rangatahi Maori and a deep understanding of their unique needs and values. Knowledge in STEM that will enable you to support our rangatahi at an NCEA level. Strong relationship management skills, and the ability to work with a range of audiences including rangatahi, Kaiako, whanau, iwi, industry partners and external stakeholders.
