This is a role that you will own, as no formal internal HR in the organisation previously. As this is a small organisation, you will be required to be hands on and work with the team to meet the work deadlines – you will have a team of 4 administrators / HR support admin.DutiesDevelop and implement people strategies underpinned by Te Ao Maori principles.Prioritise staff wellbeing and safety, embedding it into organisational practices.Establish a robust HR framework, including policies, procedures, and compliance systems.Lead the auditing process to ensure organisational compliance and excellence.Design and execute a recruitment strategy to attract and retain talent aligned with the organisation's kaupapa.Drive engagement strategies to foster a positive workplace culture.Provide leadership and guidance in employee relations matters.Coach and develop the leadership team to enhance organisational capability.Oversee compliance with accreditation requirements, maintaining accurate tracking systems.Manage and oversee financial operations, including the preparation of financial statements and reports.Skills and experienceHR qualification or equivalent experience.Deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the ability to integrate tikanga Maori into HR strategies and practices.Proven experience in a senior HR generalist role, including policy and procedure development.Familiarity with the unique dynamics of a Kaupapa Maori organisation and government funding structures.Strong leadership skills, with a focus on team development and collaboration.Strategic and problem-solving abilities, aligning HR initiatives with organisational goals.CultureThe Trust is led by a visionary and supportive Tumu Whakarae, with a Board that is deeply committed to its kaupapa.
