What will you do? We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our Group Finance team. In this role you will be overseeing and managing all aspects of Ryman's Australian tax compliance, reporting and planning activities working alongside our external consultants. You will have a peer to work alongside, who manages the equivalent for New Zealand. 
You will be working as the technical expert to understand the commercial reality and assess compliance or impact of Australian tax laws and regulations. We would want you to foster relationships within the business to ensure that you are seen as a critical business partner as we grow and adapt. 
This role may from time to time provide support for other Group tax projects unrelated to the Australian business to balance workload and ensure learning and growth. 
Please note this role will be based in our Christchurch office. Key responsibilities but are not limited to:
Building strong cross-departmental relationships with key stakeholdersProviding advice on tax implications for various business decisions and initiativesIdentifying and assessing tax risks and developing strategies to mitigate potential issuesEnsuring accurate and timely preparation and filing of all required tax returnsUpskilling finance team members to ensure that tax knowledge is sharedCollaborating with the finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and transparent financial reporting related to taxesWhat's in it for you? You have Big 4 experience or significant corporate tax experience.You have knowledge of Australian tax legislation - or a strong knowledge base from which you can learn with the support of our consultants.You have a relevant Accounting, Commerce or Law degree and have completed your CPA/CA (or equivalent) qualification.You want to improve the status quo and develop those around you.You think strategically and are not afraid to roll your sleeves up and get down to the practical work tooYou value people and kindness and are passionate about delivering resultsYou strive for excellence and look for ways to exceed expectations.
