We serve the four Northern District Health Boards including all courts in the northern region and five prisons. We deliver a comprehensive range of Forensic Mental Health Services, including secure inpatient acute and rehabilitation services that connect to community rehabilitation services, services for offenders with an intellectual disability, culture-specific programmes for Maori, court liaison and prison mental health services. This includes a regional service to Northland Region Corrections Facility at Ngawha and Northland. We continue to develop our services to support Tikanga Maori within our facility and are looking to recruit a Taurawhiri - Cultural Advisor. We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of whanaungatanga, is confident in Te Reo Maori, and has experience in Maori health care to work as an integral part of the Auckland Regional Forensic Psychiatry Services. The Taurawhiri will be responsible for providing Tikanga Maori cultural assessments to support an appropriate treatment pathway for Maori service users on the forensic caseload.
