Roles are available in the following areas:
Te Aka - tane and wahine Tari Kaupapa Maori medium secure forensic mental health rehabilitation
E Tu Tanekaha - male and female medium secure mental health rehabilitation
Pohutukawa - male forensic intellectually disabled offenders admission and medium secure
Forensic Community Reintegration Service - transitional service from inpatient to community based rehabilitation

The Auckland Regional Forensic Psychiatry Services, or the Mason Clinic as it is often known, is the largest Forensic Mental Health Service in New Zealand.
We serve the four Northern District Health Boards including all courts in the northern region and five prisons. We deliver a comprehensive range of Forensic Mental Health Services, including secure inpatient acute and rehabilitation services that connect to community rehabilitation services, services for offenders with an intellectual disability, culture-specific programmes for Maori, court liaison and prison mental health services.
This includes a regional service to Northland Region Corrections Facility at Ngawha and Northland. Our vision, mission and values are inclusive, founded on a therapeutic commitment to service users, their whanau and the community.

We continue to develop our services to support Tikanga Maori within our facility and are looking to recruit a Taurawhiri - Cultural Advisor.
We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of whanaungatanga, is confident in Te Reo Maori, and has experience in Maori health care to work as an integral part of the Auckland Regional Forensic Psychiatry Services.
The Taurawhiri will be responsible for providing Tikanga Maori cultural assessments to support an appropriate treatment pathway for Maori service users on the forensic caseload.
Essential Qualifications:
Understanding in Te Reo Maori me ona Tikanga
Strong understanding of the importance and meaning of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Knowledge of the Maori Health model
Affinity to working with Maori whanau, iwi, hapu
Proficiency in Matauranga Maori
Desired Qualifications:
Work experience in Mental Health organisations
Knowledge of substance abuse programmes
