About the role: The Private Cloud Squad provides foundational server provisioning, vulnerability management, compute and configuration management services to our ASB Technology teams.
The focus of this role is to ensure Microsoft Windows patching and deployment services are available for all Technology squads and platforms to consume. You will primarily be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Windows patching service, and assist other teams with their BAU patching queries and troubleshooting. You will also support our senior engineer as they implement Continuous Improvement initiatives, automation, and tooling upgrades in the Vulnerability Management space.
Over time you'll be expected to build your own skills and capabilities within the squad, and apply your infrastructure knowledge to the wider cloud transformation that is taking place.
We advocate agile, fully cross functional teams which will take you through all facets of engineering in any given day. As part of the Private Cloud Squad you will be asked to contribute to the following areas:
Analysis and BAU Support - Microsoft SCCM and Windows Server infrastructure, third-party, and security patching including PatchMyPCVulnerability management, documentation and knowledge sharingScripting and automationBasic support of the VMware virtualization environmentAfter hours support (if required)About you: We are looking for an Intermediate Technology Specialist with good Windows knowledge who is looking to sharpen their technical skills further. A strong customer focus is critical along with a willingness to lean in and contribute to your wider platform.
With regards to background, you will need the following capabilities:
2-3 years' experience in Microsoft Windows Server systems administration2-3 years' experience in operating system security patching and vulnerability managementHands on knowledge of Microsoft Systems Center Configuration ManagerApplication deployment and packaging knowledgeExperience working within Agile frameworksComfortable working in a banking environment with regulatory requirementsIn addition, any of the following would be a huge bonus:
