Are you passionate about IT infrastructure and keen to take a leading role in managing technical projects? Our client is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to become a key part of their stable team, stationed at their South Auckland office. As part of your role, you'll be tasked with guaranteeing that our clients IT infrastructure complies with global criteria and keeps optimal uptime. Additionally, you'll be in the lead, shaping technical design, providing support, and bringing projects to fruition.
The Role This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the stability and safeguarding of our client's networks, servers, and systems. Serving as a technical escalation point, you'll support the different teams within the business, while sharing your expertise with team members to enhance their knowledge. Under the direction of the IT Infrastructure Manager, you'll work alongside both internal and external partners to ensure our infrastructure performs seamlessly and efficiently.
Job Requirements: Network & Server Management: Ability to design, configure, and maintain infrastructure for optimal performance.Project Leadership: Experienced in leading or contributing to technical IT projects, ensuring integration and business alignment.Data Storage & Backup: Proficiency in managing data storage and assisting in backup/disaster recovery strategies.Security & Compliance: Know-how in implementing security protocols and ensuring compliance.Technical Troubleshooting: Capability to handle level 3 & 4 technical issues and provide solutions.Capacity Planning: Ability to monitor performance and recommend system adjustments for growth.Daily Maintenance: Able to perform system checks, updates, and patches to ensure uptime.Experience: Proven experience in IT Infrastructure including network and server management, with a deep understanding of cloud technologies and data storage.Security Expertise: Proficiency in security protocols, policies, and maintaining compliance standards.Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, serving as a point of escalation for infrastructure-related problems.Project Management Skills: Demonstrated project management experience in delivering key IT infrastructure initiatives on time and within scope.Teamwork: Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working with both internal and external stakeholders.Growth Mindset: A passion for continuous improvement, training, and mentoring other team members.About you This role offers hands on experience with diverse systems and infrastructure, working with a wide range of technologies. Key Skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.A minimum of 5 years' experience in IT Infrastructure support.Proficiency with Cisco Meraki and Cisco ASA.Experience with HPE Simplivity and VMWare vSphere.Knowledgeable in using Veeam Backup and MS Azure.Familiarity with Active Directory and Group Policy.Proven experience with Microsoft SQL.What's on offer?
