We have an exciting opportunity for a systems focused accountant to be part of our wider finance function.
May the baskets of knowledge (education) be brought into the world of light. We welcome one and all to join us at the New Zealand Qualifications Authority. The Systems Accountant reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and provides systems administration, maintenance and continuous development and improvements to NZQA's Financial Management Information Systems and other relevant applications within the finance unit.
The role is also responsible for identifying and implementing improvements and efficiencies of existing systems, maintaining interfaces between a variety of NZQA's systems that interface with the financial systems, providing training for users across the business and maintaining relationships with solution providers and internal Information Systems unit.
The Finance team's core activities include providing strategic financial planning advice and services, financial systems and processes, and procurement services to the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.
Skills and experience A bachelor's degree in accountancy or information systemsProven experience in systems maintenance and business analysis, including experience for the following:SQLWeb based applicationsSystems security maintenanceTesting the integrity of system outputFinancial report writingStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.Experience in accounting systems (Business Central, an added advantage)An understanding of interfaces and working with multidimensional databaseExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills combined with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, quality and continuous improvementAbout us NZQA is a te reo Maori learning organisation and is committed to equity and lifelong learning.
