We are looking for an experienced System Engineer to work with us in Northland for 30-35 hours per week.
Daily Tasks Involved in the role: Design, implement, and maintain IT systems and infrastructure across a chain of restaurants to ensure smooth and efficient operations Establish and manage operational procedures for backups, recovery, and security controls to protect critical data and support uninterrupted restaurant services Collaborate with restaurant managers and staff to address IT issues specific to the restaurant industry and optimise system performance for enhanced customer experience Liaise with security vendors, suppliers, and service providers to analyse, recommend, and maintain software security applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and service agreements Troubleshoot and provide technical support for server hardware and software malfunctions, including workstations and communication infrastructure, to minimise operational disruptions Develop and update documentation, policies, and procedures, maintaining system logs and ensuring adherence to industry best practices within the chain of restaurants Monitor and optimise network performance, ensuring seamless integration of IT components to support efficient restaurant operations and planning for future technology enhancements The role requires: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field Proven at least 3 years' experience in IT systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with hands-on experience in resolving server-related hardware and software issues.
