System Engineer

Details of the offer

Are you looking for a role where you can spearhead the design, development, and maintenance of cutting-edge firmware and hardware that makes a difference for your customers and your world? How about a role where you work side-by-side with highly skilled engineers sharing and growing your skills? Join us and make an impact by identifying and delivering disruptive cutting-edge technologies!
What You Will Do
As a System Design Engineer within CTCT, you will play a vital role in the team developing technology that works for our customers. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the specification, design, and integration of future machine control systems for earthmoving and paving machines (excavators, bulldozers, graders, etc.). You'll work with marketing, multi-discipline engineering teams, and machine OEMs, to ensure we develop innovative, high-quality products.
You will utilise your detailed knowledge of practical applications of electrical, software, and mechanical engineering skills to lay out system architecture and the systems that are dependent on them. In addition to your broad-ranging technical skills, you will have excellent interpersonal skills to work within ambiguous situations, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define and develop products, and help transform requirements into product strategy and technical direction, including sometimes serving as the technical lead in engineering teams (leading through influence).
In this role, you will:
Create earthmoving and paving machine control system designs
Work with other system engineering team members in the creation and application of system architectures
Specify system devices appropriate for their intended applications
Define communication interfaces including electrical implementation, bus loading analyses, and messaging protocols
Define machine control networks including layout, system usage, security, and messaging
Create harness and cable schematics describing connectivity between system devices
Provide technical input for grade control system verification testing
Generate and maintain professional-grade design documentation.
What you'll bring?
Along with being a team player, with strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative communication and working style, you will also need to have the following:
Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience working in embedded product development
Ability to turn market requirements into engineering specifications
Electronics experience; capable of understanding and developing system diagrams and schematics
Software experience; capable of translating customer needs to functional software requirements, validating functionality, and guiding issue resolution
Experience designing and interfacing with vehicular communication and control systems.
Experience in system debugging and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of hardware and software product development processes and tools.
