The Sustainability Lead is a new innovative role, created to put sustainability at the heart of Council's planning and activities. As the Sustainability Lead you will be responsible for developing and imbedding the sustainability vision, strategy, and action plan for Council. Reporting to the Environment Team Leader you will be a change champion, ensuring sustainability is at the front of mind for choices, actions and decisions made at Council. Additional key responsibilities include: Delivering the Sustainability Plan and leading its implementation across Council.Providing sustainability support across the organisation and with our community.Providing input into council plans and strategies to align and integrate sustainability principles.Researching and preparing submissions to relevant policies, plans, and legislation.About you: As our ideal candidate you will have passion and ambition for genuine sustainability, and social and environmental issues. You will also be committed to ongoing professional development to maintain awareness of future thinking practices and trends.
