About the Role We are looking for a Surgical Transcription Administrator to support the General Surgery Services based at Dunedin hospital. This role will provide an opportunity to demonstrate a varied workload, working to strict deadlines. It relies heavily on technology; therefore, you must be confident around computer systems with the ability to type accurately with high attention to detail. You must also be conscious of working with the utmost discretion as you'll be privy to patient information.
This role will provide high-quality transcription and administrative support to the General Surgery Services, contributing to efficient and effective service delivery.

About You We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills who will be able to transcribe voice recorded medical reports that have been dictated by healthcare professionals and disseminate transcribed clinical documentation.
Your background will be varied in administration positions, and you will be able to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the team.

Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionalsAt least two years of administration and customer service experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsTouch typing skills with a typing speed above 65 words per minuteA flexible approach with the ability to successfully prioritise your workloadAccuracy and attention to detail are essentialExcellent computer skills: proven experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook with the ability to learn other job-specific programmes.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthExperience in projects/initiatives that give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settingsOur Commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion We want to see the real you in your application and welcome the real you on board if you come and work with us.
