We are looking for an experienced Surfacing Operator with relevant industry experience to join our hard-working surfacing team in Gisborne! In this role you will utilise your skills across a variety of tasks within our surfacing department, including operating sprayers, asphalt pavers and chip spreading trucks, as well as performing other general labouring duties.
In addition to the above you will: Drive and operate machinery, plant and equipment in a professional and safe manner
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with the relevant job and work instruction
Always be aware of your surroundings and conscious of the safety and wellbeing of others
Take part in pre-start meetings - understand the hazards on site and the plan to control them, always speak up if not sure

We're looking for someone with: Full Class 1 Licence, classes 2 - 4 will be advantageous
Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) endorsements
Solid experience operating machinery and plant
Previous surfacing, chip sealing and asphalt laying experience
Competent working with a range of materials, including asphalt
Sound roading construction knowledge and relevant skills
In depth understanding of site safety and hazard management
Self-motivated, can-do attitude and a team player
Excellent communication with co-workers and management
An unwavering commitment towards living safely with a safety record to match
