About the Services (Houses)
Toe Toe House is based in Spreydon, which is home to Peter. Peter is an active member of the community who enjoys participating in various activities such as cooking, household chores, and attending community events. Routine is crucial for Peter, and he thrives when he's well-informed about upcoming events. Your role will include helping Peter maintain his daily routine, encouraging independence, and assisting with personal care, cooking, medication, and household tasks. You'll be instrumental in ensuring Peter's life is full of rich experiences while also creating appropriate boundaries and providing space when needed. Empathy, energy, and effective collaboration are key attributes for this role.
Mara House is based in Hoon Hay, which is home to Jack. Jack is a 36-year-old man with autism and is looking for a Support Worker who can provide structure and stability in his daily life. Jack enjoys socializing, volunteering, and observing trains and planes, as well as watching YouTube music videos and tending to his garden. Jack thrives on a clear, written plan for each day, and you'll be essential in helping him navigate unexpected changes that can trigger stress. During times of high anxiety, Jack may express himself through physical aggression, so the ability to stay calm under pressure and quickly find solutions is important.
