Inspired by Dr Rudolf Steiner's principles of anthroposophy, we seek to understand each person and situation as unique, not a one-size-fits-all philosophy.Sloss Service is a double-staffed house located in Halswell at the Hohepa Farm; you will be supporting four men aged between 25 to 49 alongside a colleague. They enjoy having a good laugh with one another in a positive environment with some good practical jokes!Sloss Service enjoys attending the Hohepa Festivals, swimming, going for drives in the car, and helping with the cooking. The men have varying intellectual disabilities such as autism and Down syndrome with different support styles.You will be energetic, empathetic, and able to work alongside this person focusing on creating a life of rich and diverse experiences while being able to read situations, problem-solve, and apply boundaries or offer space. Daily tasks include supporting with daily routines while encouraging independence to develop skills and personal growth. You will have the confidence to support personal cares, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks. You will be passionate about supporting and extending people's ability to access and be part of their wider community. If you are looking for a new challenge, this could be the opportunity for you.This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and is dependent on qualification level, paying between $23.15 and $28.25 per hour.Position 1Wednesday 3pm to 9:30pm, 9:30pm to 7am (Sleepover)Thursday 3pm to 8pmFriday 3pm to 8pmSaturday 3pm to 8pmHands-on hours: 43 / Sleepover hours: 19Total Hours per fortnight: 64Position 2Sunday and Monday 7am to 3pmTotal Hours per fortnight: 32Please state in your application which position you wish to apply for.Your aroha and approach are what really matters at Hohepa – previous experience is not a prerequisite because we provide on-the-job training.
